As a founding member of the Scottish HR Leadership Group, Alix was instrumental in designing and facilitating a series of Inclusion and Diversity events. As a member of the SHRLG (and later chair of the Operating Board), I worked closely with Alix and saw, from the very first session that this was more than just a “tick box exercise”. She created an important space, where HR professionals could access individuals with lived experience, learn from inspirational leaders and share best practice.  I saw people engage, learn and leave with a renewed sense of purpose, hope and responsibility to make change happen.  The sessions left a lasting impression on me and many others.  They reminded me that inclusion isn’t a project – it’s a practice.  Alix is one of the most authentically inclusive people that I know and I would have no hesitation in working with her again.

WildHearts success has been influenced by the guidance and support of WildHearts Champions, professionals who see their values reflected in our mission of ‘Business for Good’. Alix Meekison is one of them.  I have lost count of the times I have reached out to Alix for advice; from the current trends in HR to WildHearts flagship Apprenticeship Degree  Programme. Her authority and knowledge are matched by her generosity of spirit. I am deeply grateful to count Alix amongst WildHearts ambassadors and supporters and as a friend.

Alix Meekison has always been a great ally whom I've felt personally supported, accepted and promoted by, as well as a true champion of the Human Library and its goal to unjudge people. Whether encountering Alix in my role as Head of Methodology at the Human Library or my other speaking and advocacy work, Alix has always been huge of heart and humour, a networking ninja, and someone who professionally sees the bigger picture and yet also each individual person on their terms. I'm proud to have worked with Alix and to call her a friend.
